26th January: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 13/1

With the midweek fixtures opening up on Tuesday, we have another stacked schedule on our hands from across England’s lower leagues. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a Tuesday flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a few helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Tuesday 26th January

BST 19:00 Bristol City vs Huddersfield Town

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, despite enduring what was a worrying run of form when opening December, Bristol City have largely refound their form in 2021. Looking to prove that their 2-0 loss against Championship leaders Norwich earlier in the month was just a minor blip, the Robins put in another professional display over the weekend. Managing to extend on their FA Cup adventure in what quickly turned into a routine fashion, Head Coach Dean Holden saw his side land a thumping 3-0 win away at fellow second-tier outfit Millwall on Saturday afternoon. Knowing that victory in midweek could see them move back within striking distance of finding a route back into the play-off positions, it is no secret that the Reds have a play-off charge at the top of their agenda. In fact, now winning three of their last four matchups across all formats, it should also be highlighted that the midweek hosts have really caught the eye with their performances on home soil. Along with being last seen at Ashton Gate securing a 2-0 win against Preston on January 16th, Holden’s men have won each of their last three straight home fixtures. Smelling a golden chance on Tuesday night, a struggling Huddersfield could face a stern test. Last seen earlier in the month getting hit with a 1-0 defeat against Millwall at the John Smith’s Stadium, the former Premier League outfit are enduring a nightmare start to 2021. Including that defeat on home soil last time out, Tuesday’s guests have lost each of their last four straight matchups across all formats.

Tip: Bristol City win @ 11/8

19:00 Millwall vs Watford

Although Watford might have opened up the New Year as a side who were struggling to find much stability, the Hornets have managed to turn a much-needed corner over the past fortnight. Turning to yet another new boss last month and with the relatively unknown Xisco Muñoz now in the dugout at Vicarage Road, Tuesday’s guests have an immediate Premier League return on their wishlist. Losing their top-flight status over the summer, they do once again find themselves only sat outside of the Championship’s top-two due to their goal difference. Knowing that they have a real chance to break back into the automatic spots when they travel across the capital in midweek, Watford picked up another eye-catching victory on their travels over the weekend. Eventually picking up a 2-1 win away at play-off dreamers Stoke, the Yellow and Blacks have won each of their last three second-tier contests on the spin, their most fruitful spell of the season so far. With captain and attacking talisman Troy Deeney bagging himself back-to-back Championship strikes, Watford will travel to the Den on Tuesday night confident of extending on their recent purple patch. On the flip side, hit with that 3-0 drumming against Bristol City over the weekend, the Lions have really gained a reputation for their issues on home soil. Still slumping it in the bottom-half of the table, Millwall have failed to win any of their last eight straight Championship contests in South London, a run that stems back to October 20th.

Tip: Watford win @ 13/10

19:00 Peterborough United vs Bristol Rovers

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, putting in a professional display away at Ipswich over the weekend, Peterborough have really caught the eye since opening up the New Year. Eventually leaving Portman Road with a deserved 1-0 win to show for their troubles, the Posh have skyrocketed their way back into the automatic promotion chase. With it no secret that they have a Championship push at the top of their agenda, Darren Ferguson’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Knowing that victory in midweek could see them break back into the top-two, the League One high-flyers find themselves enjoying a four-match winning run across all formats. With that run highlighted by a hugely impressive 5-1 romp against Portsmouth while on EFL Trophy duties earlier in the month, the Blues have really gained a reputation for their performances in the final third. With leading marksman Jonson Clarke-Harris already notching himself 14 goals so far this season, it should also be highlighted that Peterborough are unbeaten in their last eight matchups across all competitions, a run that stems back to December 5th. On the flip side, hit with a deserved 2-0 loss away at Oxford over the weekend, Bristol Rovers find themselves freefalling down the League One table. Now with only their goal difference keeping them outside the drop zone, the Pirates are enduring a hugely worrying five-match losing run. Also suffering a 2-0 loss when they faced off against Tuesday’s hosts in the reverse fixture, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.

Tip: Peterborough United win by 2+ goals @ 8/5
