2nd April: Friday’s Football Accumulator – 12/1

With England’s top-tiers returning from the international break this weekend, we have a stacked Friday afternoon schedule on our hands. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a Friday flutter, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Friday 2nd April

BST 12:30 Notts County vs Wrexham

Although Wrexham might have only just hung onto their National League status last season, the Welsh outfit are enjoying a real purple patch. Now under superstar new ownership, The Reds have a Football League return at the top of their agenda this time around. Sat in pole position to secure a play-off finish this year, they were last seen putting on another eye-catching display. Eventually cruising their way to what was a thumping 3-0 win against Bromley at The Racecourse Ground, Wrexham have collected 10 points from their last four fifth-tier matchups. Transforming into one of the National League’s in-form sides, Dean Keates’ side have lost just one of their last 14 fixtures, a run that stems all the way back to January 23rd. With leading marksman Kwame Thomas finding the net in back-to-back contests, it should also be noted that The Reds have continued to shine in the final third. Bagging themselves over 1.5 goals in five of their last six appearances, Wrexham should be looking to cash in on a struggling Notts County. While Friday’s hosts might also be fancying their chances of landing a play-off spot of their own, The Magpies were unable to bounce back from their shock FA Trophy loss last week. Crashing out of the tournament due to a penalties defeat after a 3-3 draw against lower-league Hornchurch, they also suffered a 1-0 defeat against Aldershot in midweek. With just a pair of wins in their last nine National League matchups, don’t be surprised to see an upset this week.

Tip: Wrexham draw no bet @ 6/5

13:00 Bolton Wanderers vs Colchester United

Starting with Friday’s hosts, managing to pick up what could turn out to be a crucial 1-0 win away at Forest Green last weekend, there is no doubt that the mood in Bolton’s camp is at a real high. Only continuing on what has been a stellar purple patch, Ian Evett’s side are now tipped as a leading contender in the top-three chase. Sat within striking distance of breaking into the automatic spots, The Trotters have won each of their last four League Two contests on the spin and are enjoying an unbeaten run that stems all the way back to January 23rd. In fact, managing to record a hugely impressive 32 points from just their last 12 fourth-tier fixtures, Bolton should be smelling a golden chance on Friday lunchtime. Bagging the winner away at Forest Green last weekend, it is well worth keeping an eye out for the red-hot Eoin Doyle. Playing a vital role in The Trotters’ promotion charge this season, the former Swindon striker has found the net in back-to-back appearances and has landed 16 League Two strikes this season. On the flip side, while Bolton might be battling it out in the promotion chase, Colchester still find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap. Suffering a 2-1 defeat at home against Bradford last time out, the Essex outfit have failed to win any of their last seven fourth-tier matchups. Also landing just a single win since way back on December 8th, The U’s should face a stern test on Friday lunchtime.

Tip: Bolton Wanderers win & Eoin Doyle to score anytime @ 9/5

15:00 Preston North End vs Norwich City

While Norwich might have been disappointed to have only played out a 1-1 draw against Blackburn when heading into the international break, The Yellows are skyrocketing towards an immediate Premier League return. Only gaining a string of plaudits despite losing their top-flight status last summer, Daniel Farke’s men mark their return to action this week holding a commanding eight-point buffer at the top of the table. With leading marksman Teemu Pukki only continuing on his free-scoring run while away on international duties with Finland, the one-time Borussia Dortmund coach finds his high-flying squad enjoying a 10-match Championship unbeaten run, a run that stems all the way back to February 5th. More impressive, along with collecting nine wins on their stellar purple patch, Norwich have also gained a reputation for their continued success on the road. Including a 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest last time away from Carrow Road, it should be noted that Friday’s guests have won each of their previous six second-tier fixtures outside of East Anglia. On the flip side, in the midst of what has been a real worrying spell and partying ways with Head Coach Alex Neil last week, Preston have freefallen down the Championship table. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Luton, The Whites have just a single point from their last five contests. With just a single win at Deepdale since opening 2021, it is hard to see anything other than an away victory for Norwich this week.

Tip: Norwich City win & under four goals @ 5/4
