2nd November: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With England’s footballing tiers now heading into November and an action-packed Saturday from across the country, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 2nd November

BST 15:00 Brighton vs Norwich City

Battling from behind and grabbing a dramatic 3-2 win over Everton at the Amex last weekend, there is no doubt that new boss Graham Potter will be most impressed by his side’s recent showings on home soil. Including picking up a famous 3-0 win over Tottenham on the South Coast prior to the international break, the former Swansea boss has now seen his side land back-to-back victories at home and their free-scoring antics have received plenty of plaudits. Led by summer signing Neal Maupay who converted from the spot against Everton last weekend, another victory on Saturday could see them break into the top half. With Norwich so publically struggling, particularly away from Carrow Road, Brighton should be confident of extending their winning run at the Amex. Suffering a 3-1 hammering at home against Manchester United last time out, the Canneries are in the midst of a five-match winless run, loing four of those appearances. Also losing five of their six matches outside of East Anglia and yet to pick up a single victory on their travels this season, Daniel Farke’s men have also failed to record a single away goal in almost 500 minutes of action.

Tip: Brighton win @ 8/11

15:00 Derby vs Middlesbrough

Although Derby are still a side who are undoubtedly still struggling to adjust to life under new boss Phillip Cocu, there is no doubt that the Rams will be glad to make a return to Pride Park this weekend. Despite showing some continued issues on the road, the former PSV manager has seen his side save their best performances for home soil. Looking to break into the top half of the Championship standings, last year’s play-off finalists have won their last three consecutive matches at Pride Park, with those victories coming against Wigan, Luton, and Birmingham. With their unbeaten home record steaming back to the 20th of August, Cocu’s men should be relishing Middlesbrough’s arrival on Saturday afternoon. Another side still struggling to adjust to life under a new boss, former England defender Jonathan Woodgate has now seen his side drop into the relegation zone and the mood on Tyneside remains at a worrying low. Failing to record a single strike in any of their last three appearances, Boro are now in the midst of a seven-match winless run that stems back to the 14th of September. It should also be noted that Woodgate’s side are yet to record a single victory on the road since opening the 2019/2020 campaign.

Tip: Derby win @ 6/5

15:00 Blackpool vs Peterborough

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while Darren Ferguson may have been disappointed to have seen his side only pick up a 2-2 draw against play-off hopefuls Coventry last weekend, it has been a very eye-catching start for Peterborough. Handed the chance to end the weekend in top spot, the Blues are enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run across all competitions and their form in the final third has really started to catch the eye in League One. Scoring two or more goals in each of their last five appearances on the bounce, they have already bagged 36 goals in England’s third-tier, comfortably the best-attacking record in the division. One man who has continued to spearhead their charge alongside strike partner Ivan Toney is the red-hot, Mohamed Eisa. Scoring a 95th-minute equalizer last weekend, the 25-year-old already has 11 strikes this season, including seven in his last nine outings. Also finding the net in back-to-back matches on the road, Eisa should be confident of extending that tally on Saturday. Despite their bright start to the season, Blackpool have come crashing out of the play-off spots and have now failed to win any of their last five matches across all formats, a run highlighted by a 2-1 loss away at League Two outfit Carlisle last month.

Tip: Mohamed Eisa to score anytime @ 13/10
