30th June: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 7/1

With another hectic schedule of midweek action from across Europe, Tuesday evening offers us a string of eye-catching meetings. On that note, for those of you looking to open the week with an acca, we have found you a few helpful tips that are worth keeping a lookout for.

Tuesday 30th June

BST 18:00 Reading vs Brentford

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, putting in yet another eye-catching display on Friday night and picking up a 1-0 win against title challengers West Brom, the mood in Brentford’s camp couldn’t be any higher. All but guaranteeing a play-off spot this season and with their sights set on mounting a late charge for the top-two, Thomas Frank’s men have won their last three Championship matchups on the bounce. Really laying down a marker since return from the enforced break, they have lost just one of their last 10 second-tier appearances and have gained a reputation for their stellar displays at the back. Along with watching leading marksman Ollie Watkins bag hist first post-lockdown strike over the weekend, Brentford managed to keep out the Baggies in West London and have now landed three clean sheets on the bounce. In fact, going over 300 minutes without picking the ball out of their own net, Tuesday’s guests find themselves in the midst of their best defensive run of the season so far. On the flip side, while the Bees might be enjoying a real purple patch, the same cannot be said for a struggling Reading. Hit with a 2-1 defeat against a resurging Derby on the road over the weekend, Mark Bowen’s men have won just a trio of their last 14 Championship appearances and have continued to struggle at the Madejski. Including a 3-0 drumming against Wigan prior to the break, the Royals have won just one of their previous eight matchups on home soil. Also hit with a 1-0 defeat when they faced off against Brentford earlier in the season, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.

Tip: Brentford win @ 3/4

18:30 Mallorca vs Celta Vigo

Although Celta Vigo might have shown some worrying inconsistencies throughout the year, Tuesday’s guests should find the mood in their camp on the rise after an exciting return from the enforced break. Coming from behind in the most dramatic of fashion to snatch a 2-2 draw off of defending champions Barcelona on Saturday afternoon, Head Coach Óscar finds his side in the midst of a four-match La Liga unbeaten run, a run that has seen them pick up another notable scalp. Along with putting in what some are branding a season-best display in a stunning 6-0 romp against Alaves earlier in the month, Célticos also caught the eye with a shock 1-0 win against European chasers Real Sociedad last week. All but guaranteeing another campaign in Spain’s top-flight, Celta also have one leading marksman enjoying a stunning run of form. Grabbing the equalizer late on against Barca over the weekend, former Liverpool misfit Iago Aspas has now found the net in each of his last three La Liga matchups on the bounce and is enjoying his most clinical spell since opening 2020. With Mallorca in the midst of a real crisis, Aspas and co should be confident of extending their eye-catching run in midweek. Hit with a 3-1 drumming away at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, the Vermilions have lost four of their last five La Liga matchups and have landed just a sole point out of a possible 15. Even more worrying, including a 4-0 drumming against Barcelona when returning from the break, Mallorca have failed to win any of their last three contests on home soil.

Tip: Celta Vigo win @ 5/4

18:30 Torino vs Lazio

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, coming from behind in the most dramatic of fashion to snatch a 2-1 win against Fiorentina over the weekend, Lazio still find themselves scrapping in the Serie A title picture. Bouncing back from their defeat away at Atalanta last week, Simone Inzaghi’s men have won five of their last six top-flight appearances and sit four points adrift of defending champions Juventus. With a growing reputation for their clinical displays in the final third, the Eagles also have one leading marksman who has enjoyed a remarkable campaign in Rome. Once again finding the net against the Purples over the weekend, the red-hot Ciro Immobile has bagged 34 goals for club and country this year and finds himself sat five goals clear of Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden Boot. Enjoying their brightest season in recent memory, Lazio should also be boosted by their most recent meeting against the Serie A strugglers. When the two sides faced off back in October, the Sky Blues picked up a stunning 4-0 romp, with Immobile bagging a brace. On the flip side, putting in another torrid display on Saturday, Torino were hit with a 4-2 defeat against Cagliari and they have continued freefalling down the standings. With it appearing their 1-0 win against Udinese was just a minor bounce for the Bulls, the midweek hosts have lost eight of their last 10 matchups across all formats and have just one win to their name since January 12th. Collecting 22 points out of a possible 27 over their last nine Serie A contests away from the Stadio Olimpico, Lazio should be looking to extend on their stellar run on Tuesday evening.
