4th April: Easter Sunday Football Accumulator – 8/1

With a stacked Easter schedule on the cards throughout Sunday afternoon, we have a long list of fixtures from across Europe. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Sunday flutter, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Sunday 4th April

BST 14:05 Newcastle vs Tottenham

While Tottenham might have endured those worrying back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and that infamous display against Dinamo Zagreb during the middle of March, they did manage to make a much-needed return to winning ways. Entering the international break with a 2-0 win away at Aston Villa, Jose Mourinho’s men still have their sights set on securing another European finish this season. Smelling what should be a golden chance on their travels this weekend, the former Manchester United boss has seen his squad collect 12 points from their last five Premier League matchups. Desperate to find a route back into the top-four, there is no doubt that Spurs fans will be calling on Harry Kane to spearhead their charge at St. James’ Park. Continuing on his free-scoring run while away on international duties and finding the net in back-to-back matchups, the 27-year-old has racked up 29 goals for club and country this season. In fact, along with recording 10 strikes in his last 13 appearances across all formats, it should also be noted that Kane bagged a brace the last time he traveled to the North East. On the flip side, entering the international break with a woeful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Brighton, The Magpies find themselves in the midst of a real crisis. With many calling for Steve Bruce to step down from his role in the dugout, Sunday’s hosts are firmly at the heart of a relegation battle. Without a win in their last six Premier League matchups, Tottenham should be smelling a golden chance.

Tip: Tottenham win & Harry Kane to score anytime @ 20/21

15:00 Albacete vs Espanyol

While Espanyol might have lost their La Liga status after what was a nightmare campaign last season, Sunday’s guests have enjoyed a new lease of life since dropping down to the Segunda. Sat in pole position to secure an immediate top-flight return this year, Vicente Moreno’s men certainly laid down a real marker when heading into April. Extending their stay at the top of the table, Periquitos were last seen in midweek picking up a thumping 4-0 romp at home against Fuenlabrada. With the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, Espanyol have won their last three Segunda contests on the spin and are enjoying a nine-match unbeaten run, a run that stems back to the end of January. After bagging four goals in midweek, it is no surprise that Moreno’s side have gained a real reputation for their clinical displays in the final third. With leading marksman Raul de Tomas adding another brace to his collecting on earlier in the week and recording his 18th second-tier goal this season, Espanyol should be smelling a real chance to make it four in four this weekend. On the flip side, while Sunday’s guests might be leading the title chase, Albacete find themselves right at the other end of the Segunda table. Hit with back-to-back defeats against Castellón and Girona over the past week, The Whites are still rooted to the foot of the table with time ticking away. With just a single win to their name in any of their last nine straight contests, Espanyol rightfully open as a standout pick.

Tip: Espanyol win by 2+ goals @ 7/4

15:15 Elche vs Real Betis

Starting with Sunday’s guests, last seen putting in a professional display as they entered the international break with a deserved 2-0 win against Levante, Real Betis have continued to impress many across Spain this season. While Los Verdiblancos might have been open about their struggles throughout the 2019/2020 campaign, they have really found their feet under Manuel Pellegrini. With it appearing that their close-fought defeat against Sevilla on March 14th was just a minor blip, the former West Ham boss has seen his side collect a hugely impressive 15 points from their last six La Liga contests. In fact, only continuing to impress since opening 2021, Betis now have their sights firmly set on clinching themselves a European return this time around. With just a pair of defeats in their last 13 top-flight fixtures, a run that stems back to the end of December, this weekend’s guests should also be boosted by their most recent meeting against Elche. When they welcomed Sunday’s hosts to the Estadio Benito Villamarín back in November, Betis landed a 3-1 win and they should be looking to lay down a similar marker. On the flip side, while Pellegrini’s men might be looking to land a European return this year, Los Ilicitanos are in a battle to avoid an immediate Segunda return. Despite just about snatching a point off of Getafe before heading into the international break, Elche have won just a pair of their last 14 matchups across all formats. Really struggling since opening 2021, we’re backing an away victory for the Spanish high-flyers this weekend.

Tip: Real Betis win @ 3/4
