4th May: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 8/1

While the 2020/21 campaign might be drawing to a close there is still plenty to play for both domestically and in Europe. So, with a hefty Tuesday schedule on the cards, we have taken a look at a handful of helpful tips for those of you looking to stick on a midweek acca.

Tuesday 4th May

BST 17:00 Notts County vs Sutton United

Landing themselves what turned into a routine 3-1 romp at home against Aldershot over the weekend, Sutton will know that they have a real chance to climb to the top of the National League in midweek. Sat just a single point behind Torquay and with their sights set on securing an automatic Football League spot for next season, many have tipped The U’s as the leading title contender. Coillecting nine points from their last four fifth-tier matchups, including back-to-back wins against Barnet and Aldershot, Matt Gray’s men have lost just a pair of their last 18 matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to the start of February. Looking to make it three wins on the spin on Tuesday evening, Sutton will be calling on the in-form Donovan Wilson to lead their charge. Once again finding the net against Aldershit over the weekend, the 24-year-old has three goals in his last four National League matchups. On the flip side, while Notts County might have seen themselves leading the play-off charge earlier in the year, Tuesday’s hosts are enduring a woeful run of form. Only playing out a 1-1 draw against Altrincham last time out, The Magpies have failed to win any of their last six fifth-tier contests, mustering just a pair of points.

Tip: Sutton United win @ 7/5

19:00 Luton Town vs Rotherham United

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, while Luton might have opened the 2020/21 campaign tipped as one of the leading relegation candidates, The Hatters have shocked many across the Championship this season. Despite returning from March’s international break with back-to-back defeats against Derby and play-off outfit Barnsley, Nathan Jones’ men have bounced back in an impressive fashion. Finding a route into the top-half of the table and with a top-12 finish firmly on their agenda, The Whites find themselves enjoying a five-match unbeaten run. Despite throwing away the lead against Middlesbrough over the weekend, Luton should be smelling a golden chance on home soil in midweek. Landing a deserved 1-0 win when Tuesday’s opponents faced off earlier in the season, a struggling Rotherham might face another stern test on their travels. Only managing to snatch a point off of Blackburn over the weekend, The Millers are freefalling towards an immediate League One return. Missing out on a string of golden chances to make up some ground, the midweek guests have managed to collect just a single point from their last six Championship contests. While Rotherham might face a must-win showdown on the road this week, Luton appear at great odds and are well worth backing on Tuesday night.

Tip: Luton Town draw no bet @ 11/10

20:00 Manchester City vs PSG

Mounting that stunning comeback out in Paris last week, Manchester City will simply be looking to finish off the job on Tuesday night. Eventually landing a 2-1 win on foreign soil and holding a crucial advantage in midweek, Pep Guardiola’s side are 90 minuets away from booking their spot in the Champions League final for the first. With the mood in their camp at a real high, the former Bayern Munich boss saw his squad keep up their momentum away at Selhurst Park over the weekend. Securing a 2-0 win in the capital, The Sky Blues are just one more victory away from reclaiming their Premier League crown with time to spare. Bouncing back from their FA Cup defeat at the hands of Chelsea last month, City have also gained a reputation for their European success on home soil. Including previously picking up a 2-1 victory against German giants Borussia Dortmund, Tuesday’s hosts have won each of their last five Champions League home fixtures by an aggregate score of 13-2. On the flip side, despite taking the lead at The Parc des Princes last week, Mauricio Pochettino’s side now face an uphill battle on foreign soil. Also still sat a single point behind Ligue 1 leaders Lille, last year’s finalists have struggled to fully find their feet under the former Tottenham boss.
