5th February: Wednesday’s Football Accumulator – 6/1

With a busy Wednesday night from across Europe’s footballing world, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Wednesday 5th February

BST 19:45 Lazio vs Verona

Putting in what was another rampant display and picking up a stunning 5-1 win over SPAL last weekend, few across Italy would have expected what has been a stellar purple patch for Lazio. With the mood in their camp at a continued high and now sat in pole position to bring Champions League football back to the Stadio Olimpico, the Blues are in the midst of a stunning 16-match Serie A unbeaten run, a run that stems all the way back to the 25th of September. Remarkably winning 12 of their last 13 league contests, one man who has continued to shine for Lazio this season has been the red-hot Ciro Immobile. Bagging yet another brace against SPAL on Sunday, the striking sensation has recorded an astonishing 31 strikes this season for club and country. Leading the race for Italy’s Golden Boot and Wednesday’s hosts gaining a reputation for their form in the final third, Verona’s arrival in midweek could prove to be another lively contest. While Lazio might find the mood around the Stadio Olimpico at a continued high, Ivan Jurić’s side have cemented their spot as Italy’s surprise package this season. Putting in another rugged display and grabbing a 1-1 draw away at a resurging AC Milan over the weekend, I Gialloblu are in the midst of a six-match unbeaten run. With their own European ambitions this season, it should also be noted that Verona have found the net away at the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, Roma, and Atalanta so far this campaign.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 4/5

19:45 Motherwell vs Celtic

Starting with Wednesday’s guests, watching title challengers Rangers once again slip up against Aberdeen and drop what could be a crucial two points over the weekend, Celtic have a golden opportunity to widen their buffer at the top of the Premiership. Eventually managing to pick up what was a deserved 4-1 victory away at Hamilton on Saturday, Neil Lennon finds his side holding a seven-point advantage over their bitter rivals. Bouncing back from their Old Firm defeat prior to the festive break, the Hoops find themselves enjoying a five-match winning run across all competitions and have continued to shine in the final third. Finding the net 15 times on their winning run, fans around Glasgow will be most impressed by leading marksman, Odsonne Edouard. Linked with a potential Premier League switch during the transfer window, the French starlet bagged a brace against Hamilton over the weekend and has now recorded 10 goals in his last 11 Premiership appearances. On the flip side, while Motherwell might still sit third in the table, Wednesday’s hosts are enduring a minor blip. Hit with a 1-0 defeat away at Livingston last time out, the Steelmen have won just one of their last four Premiership matchups and they have also now failed to win any of their last three outings on home soil. Hit with a 2-1 defeat against a struggling Hamilton on that run, we’re backing another tricky night for Motherwell.

Tip: Celtic win and Odsonne Edouard to score anytime @ 5/4

19:45 Ross County vs Livingston

From one Premiership high-flyer to another. Putting in one of the performances of the weekend and picking up a 1-0 win over third-place Motherwell last week, the mood in Livingston’s camp only continues to soar. Breaking into the top half of the table and enjoying what has been an extended purple patch, Wednesday’s guests are in the midst of a four-match winning run and have tasted defeat in Scotland’s top-flight just once since the 23rd of September. Suddenly transforming into one of the Premiership’s inform outfits, Gary Holt’s men should still be boosted by their 4-2 romp away at Hamilton last month. Led by leading marksman Lyndon Dykes who has bagged six goals in his last nine outings, Livingston also have a growing reputation for their performances at the back. Keeping another eye-catching clean sheet against Motherwell on Saturday, the Lions have recorded three clean sheets on their four-match winning run. Picking up what was a thumping 4-0 victory when they welcomed Ross County to the Tony Macaroni Arena earlier in the season, there is no doubt that Holt’s men should be looking to make another statement in midweek. Putting in another tired display and shipping a trio of strikes against Kilmarnock over the weekend, Wednesday’s hosts still find themselves in the midst of an extended rut. Losing their last three matchups on the bounce, including a 3-0 defeat against Celtic, the Staggies have failed to win any of their last eight matches across all formats. In fact, along with losing six of those contests, they were also hit with a 1-0 loss against lower league Ayr United last month.

Tip: Livingston to score over 1.5 goals @ 1/1
