6th November: Wednesday’s Champions League Accumulator – 9/1

With a star-studded Wednesday night of action from across Europe’s premier tournament, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Wednesday 6th November

BST 17:55 Lokomotiv Moscow vs Juventus

Starting with Wednesday’s guests, after leaving it late to pick up a 1-0 win away at Torino over the weekend, Juventus have continued on both an eye-catching run in Serie A and while on European duties. Climbing to the top of Group D and with their goal difference keeping them ahead of Atletico Madrid, former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has seen his side yet to taste defeat across any format since joining over the summer. Also holding a one-point buffer over Inter Milan at the top of Serie A and in pole position to clinch a spot in the knockout stage, The Old Lady also clinched a hard-fought 2-1 win when they met Lokomotiv Moscow in Turin a fortnight ago. Led by Paulo Dybala who bagged both goals against Wednesday’s hosts last month, Juve should be looking to cash in on Lokomotiv’s recent rut in midweek. Putting in a sluggish display and only snatching a point off of Ufa over the weekend, Yuri Semin’s men have failed to win any of their last three matches across all formats, including a 3-0 hammering at home against Spartak Moscow last week. It should also be noted that the Russian outfit have lost four of their last five Champions League matches at the RZD Arena.

Tip: Juventus win and over 1.5 goals @ 20/21

20:00 Atalanta vs Manchester City

Battling from behind to pick up a 2-1 win over Southampton over the weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side have continued to shine after returning from the international break and have arguably saved their best performances for while on European duties. Holding a five-point buffer at the top of Group C, Pep Guardiola’s men are seen to be a huge favorite to lift their first European title in Istanbul next year. Picking up a dramatic 5-1 win over Atalanta at the Etihad a fortnight ago, one man who continued to shine that night and certainly to keep an eye out for on Wednesday will be England international Raheem Sterling. Picking up the match ball in Manchester a fortnight ago, the pacey winger already has four Champions League strikes to his name, with those strikes coming in his last two European appearances. Given Atalanta’s continued issues entering November, there is no doubt that Sterling should be looking to extend on that tally in midweek. Suffering a shock 2-0 defeat at home against Cagliari over the weekend, the Italian outfit have won just one of their last five matches across all competitions and their Champions League debut has been nothing short of woeful. Losing each of their three Group C appearances, they have also shipped 11 goals in those three defeats and it should also be noted that they have now shipped two or more goals in four of their last five outings.

Tip: Raheem Sterling to score anytime @ 10/11

20:00 Bayer Leverkusen vs Atletico Madrid

Starting with Wednesday’s guests, although Atletico Madrid might be coming off the back of back-to-back 1-1 draws against Alaves and Sevilla, Diego Simeone’s men still sit in pole position to land a spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Champions League. With only their goal difference keeping them behind Juventus in Group D, one man to keep an eye out for will certainly be the red-hot Alvaro Morata. While the La Liga contenders might not quite be at their best, the former Chelsea misfit has remained a constant in the Spanish capital. Scoring the winner against Bayer Leverkusen in their 1-0 victory at the Wanda Metropolitano a fortnight ago, the 27-year-old now has four goals in his last four matchups across all competitions. Also finding the net in back-to-back matches on the road, there is no doubt that Morata should be confident of exploiting Leverkusen’s continued struggles in midweek. Suffering a 2-1 defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach over the weekend, the German outfit have recorded just a single victory in their last seven matches across all formats, a run that stems back to the 28th of September. With that sole victory coming against lower league Paderborn, we’re backing Morata to extend on his recent tally on Wednesday.

Tip: Alvaro Morata to score anytime @ 7/4
