8th May: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 11/1

With the Championship campaign drawing to a close this weekend, we have another stacked Saturday schedule on our hands. So, for those of you looking to stick on a weekend acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips from across Europe that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday 8th May

BST 12:30 Bristol City vs Brentford

Starting with Saturday’s guests, while Brentford might have been disappointed to have once again missed out on a top-two finish this season, they have picked up some perfect momentum heading into the play-offs. Long since securing their position in the top-six, The Bees have also clinched third-place with time to spare. Still tipped by many as the leading contender to come through Wembley and book a maiden Premier League campaign for next season, Thomas Frank’s side should be looking to sign off their year with a flurry this weekend. Despite gaining a reputation as a stalemate specialist when heading into April, Brentford have bounced back in an eye-catching fashion and should be boosted by their last display. Landing a deserved 2-0 victory against an already promoted Watford last weekend, Frank’s side have won each of their last three Championship contests on the spin. Led by the red-hot Ivan Toney who has continued to shine this season, it should also be noted that The Bees are enjoying a remarkable 11-match unbeaten run that stems all the way back to the start of March. on the flip side, hit with a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Millwall last time out, Bristol City find themselves enduring a woeful Championship run. Only freefalling their way down the table and the pressure firmly on Nigel Pearson’s shoulders, Saturday’s hosts have lost their last three Championship contests on the spin, shipping nine goals. More worrying, The Robins have failed to win any of their last nine second-tier matchups and face a stern test this weekend.

Tip: Brentford win & Brentford to score over 1.5 goals @ 1/1

15:00 Wealdstone vs Dagenham & Redbridge

While many around the National League might feel that Dagenham & Redbridge have left it to late to mount a play-off charge, they have only continued on a real purple patch. Putting in another thumping display earlier in the week, The Daggers landed a 3-1 win against Woking on home soil. Skyrocketing their way up the table, Daryl McMahon’s men have won each of their last five fifth-tier matchups on the spin, their brightest run of the 2020/21 campaign. Smelling what is a golden chance on their travels this weekend, it is well worth keeping an eye out for the red-hot Paul McCallum. Once again bagging a brace against Woking last time out, the 28-year-old has now recorded five goals in as many National League outings. On the flip side, while the mood in Dagenham & Redbridge’s camp is at a real high, the same cannot be said for a Wealdstone side who find themselves in the midst of a woeful run of form. Still firmly looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Saturday’s hosts were last seen getting hit with a deserved 4-0 drumming away at Stockport. Facing what should be another tough task this weekend, The Blues have lost each of their last six National League matchups on the spin. It should also be noted, along with conceding over 1.5 goals in each of those six defeats, they have also suffered 7-2 and 6-0 losses against Hartlepool and Maidenhead.

Tip: Paul McCallum to score anytime & Dagenham & Redbridge to win by 2+ goals @ 6/4

19:45 Fiorentina vs Lazio

Starting with Saturday’s guests, putting in what was another action-packed display last time out, Lazio have managed to play themselves into pole position to clinch another European spot this year. Despite watching German giants Bayern Munich end their Champions League adventure back in March, The Eagles now have their sights firmly set on making a late charge for the top-four. With it appearing that their 5-2 defeat against Napoli last month was just a minor blip, Simone Inzaghi’s side have since secured back-to-back Serie A wins. Building off of that stunning 3-0 romp against AC Milan a fortnight ago, Lazio were last seen picking up a dramatic 4-3 win against Genoa on home soil. In fact, mustering 12 points from their last five top-flight contests, it is well worth keeping an eye out for the red-hot Ciro Immobile this weekend. Once again finding the net against Genoa last time out, the Italian marksman has now found the net in his last four matchups on the bounce, recording five goals. Once again expected to lead Lazio’s charge on Saturday night, Immobile should be confident of extending on his tally. On the flip side, while Fiorentina might have managed to snatch a point in their action-packed 3-3 draw against Bologna last time out, The Purples have continued on another downbeat run. Despite grabbing a point off of an inconsistent Juventus earlier in the month, Saturday’s hosts have managed to win just one of their previous seven Serie A contests.

Tip: Lazio win & Ciro Immobile to score anytime @ 6/4
