9th February: Tuesday’s European Accumulator – 9/1

With the midweek schedule opening up on Tuesday, we have another stacked day from across Europe on the cards. So, with the likes of the FA Cup returning to action this week, we have found you a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Tuesday.

Tuesday 9th February

BST 15:00 Ferreira vs Portimonense

For our opening Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Portugal and a Ferreira side who should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high after a stunning start to the 2020/2021 campaign. While the Beavers might have found themselves largely scrapping it out in the bottom-half of the table last season, the Yellows have certainly gained a string of plaudits so far this year. Already mustering themselves 34 points and just their goal difference keeping them behind the likes of Primeira Liga giants Benfica, some around the Estádio da Mata Real will even have a remarkable European charge at the top of their agenda. Last seen over the weekend when hosting Tondela, Head Coach Pepa saw his side grab a late 2-1 win on home soil and they’re now unbeaten in Portugal’s top-tier since back on December 6th. Enjoying what has been by far their most fruitful spell and smelling a real chance to keep up their recent momentum in midweek, it should also be noted that Ferreira find themselves enjoying a free-scoring six-match Primeira Liga winning run. On the flip side, suffering back-to-back defeats after a sluggish display away at Braga over the weekend, Portimonense find themselves already battling it out at the foot of the table. Showing a host of issues at the back and with just a single win to their name over the past month, it should also be noted that Tuesday’s guests were hit with a 2-1 loss the last time they made the trip to Ferreira.

Tip: Ferreira win @ 19/20

18:00 Hartlepool United vs Solihull Moors

While Hartlepool would have been hugely disappointed by that shock 1-0 defeat away at relegation scrappers Weymouth last month, the Pools managed to make an immediate return to winning ways last time out. Signing off January with a deserved 1-0 victory against second-place Sutton, Dave Challinor’s men have largely impressed many across the National League over the past six weeks. Although the Durham outfit might have just snuck themselves a top-half finish in last year’s interrupted campaign, the Blues have made it no secret that a play-off spot is at the top of their wishlist. Knowing that victory in midweek could briefly push them as high as second in the standings, the former Fylde boss has seen his squad pick up 15 points from just their last six fifth-tier appearances. With it appearing that their close-fought defeat at the Bob Lucas Stadium was just a minor blip, Hartlepool also hold what is a stellar record on home soil. Including that win against Sutton last time out, Tuesday’s hosts have won each of their last five straight National League contests in Durham. On the flip side, while Solihull Moors might have grabbed themselves a scrappy point against Eastleigh over the weekend, James Shan’s side have gained a reputation for their recent inconsistencies. Winning just one of their last four matchups across all formats, it should also be highlighted that the midweek guests have really struggled on the road. With just a single away win to their name since November 11th, we’re backing another home victory for the promotion chasers on Tuesday evening.

Tip: Hartlepool United win @ 19/20

19:45 Fleetwood Town vs Doncaster Rovers

Starting with Tuesday’s guests, putting on a hugely impressive performance over the weekend, Doncaster managed to land themselves a 3-2 win against fellow high-flyers Oxford on home soil. Gaining a string of plaudits for what was another eye-catching display in South Yorkshire, it is no secret that the Rovers have their sights set on securing a Championship return this year. Opening the midweek fixtures with just their goal difference stopping them from breaking into the automatic spots, Darren Moore’s men find themselves enjoying a stellar purple patch. Despite crashing out of the FA Cup against Premier League side West Ham on their travels last month, the one-time West Brom boss finds his side enjoying a glittering five-match League One winning run. With the mood in their camp at what appears to be a red-hot high and still boosted by that shock 1-0 victory against league leaders Lincoln when drawing a close to January, Doncaster should be looking to lay down another marker on the road. Collecting a staggering 27 points from just their last 10 third-tier appearances, Moore’s men should be looking to cash in on a struggling Fleetwood in midweek. After partying ways with former boss Joey Barton, Tuesday’s hosts are a side who are desperately seeking some kind of boost. Having to settle for a 0-0 stalemate against Bristol Rovers over the weekend, the Reds have failed to win any of their last 10 straight matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to the middle of December.

Tip: Doncaster Rovers win @ 7/4
