Aberdeen 4/5 to beat Kilmarnock in Saturday’s Scottish Premiership showdown

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Aberdeen win

Odds: 5/6 @ 888sport

Hoping to continue on from where they left off prior to the international break, Aberdeen will welcome Kilmarnock to Pittodrie on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Aberdeen might have opened the new campaign with a 1-0 loss against Rangers and some off-field issues to deal with, Derek McInnes’ men certainly managed to bounce back in impressive fashion. Last seen prior to the international break ending Hibernian’s eye-catching unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 win away at Easter Road, the Reds also managed to keep alive their Europa League adventure with a thumping victory on home soil. Cruising past Faroe Islands outfit NSI thanks to a 6-0 romp at Pittodrie, Aberdeen have won each of their last four contests across all competitions and McInnes will be most impressed by his side’s continued resolve at the back. Landing another clean sheet away at Hibbs last time out, Saturday’s hosts have picked the ball out of their own net just once in over 400 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, managing to pick up what was a much-needed 4-0 victory against newly-promoted Dundee United prior to the international break, there is no doubt that Kilmarnock will know that they must build off of that result. Managing to find a route off of bottom spot after what was a worrying start to the 2020/2021 campaign, new boss Alex Dyer knows that he has quite the rebuilding job on his hands at Rugby Park. Enduring what was a woeful end to last year’s season before it was brought to an early halt, Killie still hold what is a real reputation for their continued issues on the road. Including a 2-0 defeat away at Ibrox last month, Saturday’s guests have remarkably managed to win just one of their previous 15 contests on their travels, a run that stems all the way back to October 2019.
