AC Milan can’t afford Matic?

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, AC Milan will not be able to complete the signing of Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer as a direct result of his wage demands. He will almost certainly be available on a free transfer as a result of his contract expiring in a matter of months, but the wages are going to throw Milan off the scent.

While Matic has been able to force his way back into the mix in United’s starting XI, it definitely doesn’t seem as if he’s all too interested in the prospect of staying at Old Trafford. Juventus and Inter Milan are also both in the running to sign him, with it looking progressively likely that he’s going to drift away from the Premier League in favour of Serie A.

Whether or not United can try and cling onto him remains to be seen.
