Competition: A-League

Market: Adelaide United win and over 1.5 goals

Odds: 3/5 @ Bet 365

Handed a golden opportunity to make a return to winning ways on Friday morning, Adelaide will welcome Central Coast to Coopers Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, while Adelaide may have fallen just short against a high-flying Brisbane last week, Gertjan Verbeek’s men are enjoying their brightest run of the season. Including picking up a 3-1 win over AFC Champions League hopefuls Melbourne City last month, they have won three of their other last four appearances and have a growing reputation for their performances on home soil. Landing back-to-back victories at Coopers Stadium against the Melbourne based duo, Adelaide have also won three of their last four matchups in front of their own supporters.

As for the visitors, falling short against Newcastle Jets last weekend in what turned out to be a seven-goal thriller on the road, Central Coast find themselves in the midst of another extended rut. On a woeful run that has seen them lose each of their last four A-League matchups on the bounce, Alen Stajcic’s men find only their goal difference just keeping them from slipping to the bottom of the table. Showing some glaring issues at the back, including a 3-0 hammering away at Western United last month, Central Coast have shipped 11 goals on their losing run.
