Afobe linked with Wolves return

Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on re-signing Benik Afobe from Bournemouth, according to the Express and Star.

The DR Congo international moved to the Vitality Stadium three years ago having completed his switch half way through the 2015/16 campaign and he has since racked up seventy appearances for the Cherries, scoring eleven goals.

However, only five of his seventeen league outings this campaign have come from the start while his only goal since the summer came in an EFL Cup victory over Middlesbrough back in October.

He was far more prolific during his time at Molinuex, scoring twenty-three times in forty-eight games – form that earned him a move to the top flight.

Before establishing himself in Wolves’ first team he had loan spells with Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons.

Internationally he has been capped just once for his country having represented England at youth levels, though he did score on his debut – a friendly victory over Botswana last June.
