Alonso heading to Atletico Madrid?

According to a recent report from AS, Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso may join Atletico Madrid on loan during the January transfer window.

The controversial Blues man hasn’t exactly been a consistent member of the first team operation at Stamford Bridge so far this season and it doesn’t appear as if that’s going to change anytime soon. Atletico, on the other hand, are riding high at the top of La Liga, and they always appear to be on the look out for some new talent.

Frank Lampard hasn’t exactly been shy about turfing players out since becoming the club’s manager and that trend is going to continue for as long as he is in the job. Alonso has had his fair share of good moments in a blue shirt but if Chelsea are going to take their game to the next level, moving on from players like Marcos Alonso seems inevitable.
