Competition: Turkmenistan Yokary Liga

Market: Altyn Asyr win

Odds: 4/7 @ Bet 365

In what is a real battle at the top of the Yokary Liga in midweek, defending champions Altyn Asyr will hope to make it three in three when they travel to FK Kopetdag on Thursday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, shocking almost everyone and putting in another worrying display over the weekend, FK Kopetdag have struggled to capitalize on a strong start to the new campaign. Hit with what was a stunning 2-1 defeat away at a struggling Nebitçi on Saturday, the Whites have come tumbling out of the top-two and have landed just a sole Yokary Liga in their last six attempts. Along with continuing to show some real cause for concern on home soil, Head Coach Tofik Şükürow will also be hugely worried about his side’s recent meetings against Thursday’s guests. Including a routine 2-0 defeat when the two sides last faced off at the Köpetdag Stadium, the AFC Champions League outsiders have remarkably lost each of their last seven consecutive matchups against the defending champions.

As for the visitors, despite also being hit with their own shock defeat against Nebitçi earlier in the month, the Turkmenistan champions have certainly bounced back in some style. Opening Thursday’s trip still with their place at the top of the table intact thanks to their goal difference, the Blues once again impressed with a 2-1 win against main title rivals Ahal over the weekend. Collecting four wins in their last five top-flight outings and in pole position to lift their seventh domestic crown this season, Ýazguly Hojageldyýew’s men should be confident of making it three in three on Thursday afternoon. Given their stellar record against Kopetdag, it is hard to see anything other than another successful trip on the road for the defending champions.
