April 15th: Friday’s Championship Accumulator – 9/1

With a stacked schedule across the Championship on this Bank Holiday weekend, we have a host of eye-catching affairs from up and down the country. So, For those of you looking to stick on an acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday April 15th

BST 12:30 Luton Town vs Nottingham Forest

Starting with Friday’s hosts, putting in another eye-catching display last weekend and securing a routine 2-0 win at home against Birmingham, Nottingham Forest really find themselves enjoying quite the purple patch. Despite opening the 2021/22 campaign at the heart of a real relegation scrap, the one-time European champions are certainly enjoying life under Steve Cooper. Skyrocketing their way up the Championship table and now sat in pole position to clinch a play-off spot, the one-time Swansea boss should be smelling the chance to lay down another marker here. Although Forest might have seen Premier League giants Liverpool end their FA Cup adventure prior to March’s international break, Friday’s hosts have remarkably won each of their last six straight second-tier contests. With the mood around the City Ground at a red-hot high, it should be noted that Cooper’s men have remarkably not lost a Championship matchup since January 30th. On the flip side, while Luton might have also shocked many across the Championship this season, they are enduring a recent blip. Last seen getting hit with a 2-0 loss away at Huddersfield, Nathan Jones’ side have failed to win any of their last three outings. Likewise, recording just a single victory on home soil from any of their previous four attempts, we’re backing an away win for Forest here.

Tip: Nottingham Forest win & under 5.5 goals @ 31/20

15:00 Swansea vs Barnsley

While Swansea might almost find themselves sat in Championship limbo this season, they are enjoying an eye-catching run of form. Last seen picking up a 2-1 victory at home against leading relegation scrappers Derby, Russell Martin’s side appear to be ending the 2021/22 campaign with a real flurry. Remarkably now with just their goal difference keeping them outside of the top-half, Friday’s hosts will undoubtedly be smelling a golden chance at the Liberty here. Marking their return from March’s international break with a stunning 4-0 win away at bitter local rivals Cardiff, the Swans have now picked up 13 points from just their last five Championship outings. Gaining a reputation for their largely rugged displays at the back end shipping just a single strike in their last four contests, Martin’s men will also be boosted by their most recent meeting against Friday’s guests. Landing a 2-0 win when they made the trip to Oakwell back in November, Barnsley should be in for another tough test here. Last seen getting hit with a 4-1 drumming away at Milwall, the Yorkshire-based outfit are freefalling their way out of the Championship. Making the trip to south Wales this weekend sat eight points adrift of safety, it should also be noted that Poya Asbaghi’s side have won just one of their previous seven outings, a run that stems back to February 26th.

Tip: Swansea win & over 1.5 goals @ 11/10

17:30 Huddersfield Town vs QPR

Starting with Friday’s hosts, while Huddersfield might have endured a worrying run of form when heading into March’s international break, the Terriers have really came roaring back. Last seen picking up a hugely impressive 2-0 victory at home against Luton, it appears that the Yorkshire-based outfit are cruising towards a play-off spot this season. Only continuing to gain a host of plaudits from across the Championship under Carlos Corberán, they also sit just four points adrift of breaking into the top-two. Securing back-to-back victories, the one-time Leeds coach should also be boosted by his side’s continued success at the John Smith’s Stadium. Suffering just a defeat on home soil from any of their last 11 outings, a run that stems all the way back to November 27th, Friday’s hosts should be looking to cash in on a QPR side who are in the midst of a Championship nightmare. Freefalling their way down the table, Mark Warburton’s men have remarkably lost each of their last five contests. Likewise, with growing pressure on the former Rangers boss, it should also be noted that the Hoops have lost six of their previous seven second-tier matchups. Suffering a 1-0 loss when they last made the trip to Huddersfield, we’re backing a similar home victory here.

Tip: Huddersfield Town win @ 1/1
