Arsenal and Inter Milan fail to agree Perisic, Ozil deals

Things are getting rather busy as winter transfer market nears its completion.

The latest information coming from Italy and England bring an interesting story about Inter Milan and Arsenal.

Without any money to spend during January, both sides wanted to get involved in a double loan deal that would involve Ivan Perisic and Mesut Ozil.

The Croatia international has long been linked with an Inter Milan departure and the Premier League move. His contract expires in 2022 but Perisic has asked to leave the club as he’s looking for a new challenge. Arsenal are said to have lodged a loan deal proposal but Inter Milan would rather sell the Croatian star.

As for Mesut Ozil, the situation is pretty similar. Inter Milan are willing to take the German international on loan until the end of the season but also want Arsenal to cover half of his wages. The Arsenal midfielder signed a new contract last year worth £350,000 but has since then lost his place in the team under Unai Emery.

It is believed that Arsenal are unlikely to agree to such a proposal from Inter Milan which could see both clubs fail in their loan attempts.
