According to reports in England, Arsenal are the latest club to register their interest in Lille youngster Nicolas Pepe. The Ivory Coast star has been tearing it up over in Ligue 1, and it has always seemed like just a matter of time before he takes the plunge and moves elsewhere. Alas, few could’ve anticipated just how much interest there would be in him, with several of Europe’s biggest and most notable names chasing after his signature.
Everton, Sevilla and Barcelona are three of the more notable sides going after Pepe, and while it would seem obvious that Barca would be the favourites to land his signature, that doesn’t appear to be the case. Nicolas realises that he has to keep his options open, because there’s always the possibility that he’d spend a few years sat on the bench with Barca before being sold again.
That’s not good for anyone, but either way, we’re excited to see what happens next with him.
