Arsenal still want Odegaard

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are still interested in trying to sign Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Gunners last season and while the overwhelming hope was that they’d be able to take it one step further, it was never going to be a guarantee.

Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly assured Odegaard that he will have a role to play in this Madrid team, but the extent of that role has yet to be confirmed. A starting XI place obviously isn’t something that’s just handed out for fun at the Bernabeu, but if Odegaard were to return to the Emirates, you can bet he would be one of their featured stars.

Arsenal aren’t going to be playing in any kind of European competition between now and the end of the current season, but in many ways, that could play to their advantage.
