Arsenal’s problem with Ozil deal

According to a recent report from The Guardian, Mesut Ozil is officially in talks to join Fenerbahce on loan for the rest of the season.

However, in order to get the deal over the finish line, the Turkish club may need to agree to a stipulation put forward by his parent club Arsenal. The report suggests that the Gunners do not want to pay any part of his £350,000-per-week salary if the move does come to fruition, potentially opening the door for some more negotiation on Fenerbahce’s part down the road.

Then again, this could just be a case of the bigger club – in this case Arsenal – using their power and stance to intimidate Fenerbahce into accepting their terms.

Whatever happens we aren’t expecting to see Ozil at the Emirates for too much longer and based on what’s happened in recent years, that’s probably the best step forward for everyone involved.
