Aston Villa agree fee for Heaton

According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Premier League side Aston Villa have agreed to a £9 million fee with Burnley in order to complete the signing of Tom Heaton. The 33 year old has been in the last year of his contract with the Clarets, which has caused a great deal of uncertainty in regards to his future. Heaton featured in Burnley’s last two pre-season friendlies, but now, he is set to travel down to Birmingham in order to take part in a medical.

This will mark the 12th signing of the summer for Villa, who have been on an absolute tear in the window up to this point. They have well and truly taken the window by the scruff of the neck, producing some fantastic signings in the process. Heaton is perhaps one of the most intriguing of them all, as he will almost certainly be a featured member of the first team squad in some way, shape or form.
