Aston Villa defender James Bree in talks with Luton Town

James Bree could leave Aston Villa for Luton Town in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that the defender is in advanced talks with the Championship club, with Villa manager Dean Smith having given him the green light to leave Villa Park.

Bree joined Villa from Barnsley in January 2017 for a transfer fee of £3 million. The right-back has struggled to make an impact at Villa Park, and has been out on loan at Ipswich Town and Luton in recent years. The 22-year-old right-back has fallen down the pecking order at the Villans, and it is hard to see him break into the starting lineup anytime soon.

The youngster did well during his loan spell at Luton last season, and it would make sense for the 22-year-old to join the Hatters on a permanent contract, and Villa would also earn some decent transfer fee.
