According to a recent report from Le 10 Sport, Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sign Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
The belief is that a deal has never been closer than it is right now with a fee of around €15 million being viewed as realistic. The Midlanders have seemingly reclaimed their spot as the top dogs in the West Midlands, and moving forward, they have their eyes set on a potential top six finish – especially if they can win a few of their games in hand.
Sanson’s experience and composure would be welcomed at Villa Park as they continue their resurgence under Dean Smith, and while they may not have played much recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their body of work over the course of the season so far suggests that they’re in a realy strong place. Whether or not Sanson is the key to them taking things to the next level, though, remains to be seen.
