Aston Villa’s Smith Rowe bid rejected

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Arsenal have rejected a second bid from Aston Villa for midfield star Emile Smith Rowe.

The opening bid was believed to be £25 million and now, Villa have come back with an improved bid of £30 million. It doesn’t seem as if that’s going to be good enough for the Gunners, though, who recognise that Smith Rowe is one of the most exciting young prospects they’ve had in quite some time.

Arsenal are engaged in ongoing negotiations regarding a new contract with the 20-year-old now entering the final two years of his deal at the Emirates.

Smith Rowe is as determined as they come to succeed but you can bet Arsenal are going to fight this – especially after they lost out to Villa on the signing of Buendia.

They want to try and make a statement this season and Smith Rowe, at least to Mikel Arteta, should be a big part of that.
