Atalanta have completed and confirmed the signing of Simone Muratore from Juventus.
At the age of 22, Muratore is a versatile midfielder, playing primarily in a central role. His tactical inteligence and defensive responsibility make him very capable of performing also as a defensive midfielder, as well as a centre-back.
The youngster made a single competitive first-team appearance for the Italian defending champions, a brief cameo as he entered this season’s Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena in the place of Juan Cuadrado late on, spending most of his days in Turin with their U-23 squad. He has also passed through the entire international youth setup for Italy.
Speaking in his first interview as an Atalanta player, Moratore said his new club represent a huge opportunity for him to show his quality, and he finds justifying the trust they’ve put in him his primary task. He is delighted with Atalanta’s recent success, both in Italy and Europe, and he’s anxious to get started and make his contribution.
