Atletico Madrid to open contract talks with Kun Aguero

Atletico Madrid chiefs are eager to start contract negotiations with Kun Aguero’s representatives with the talks scheduled for next month.

Los Colchoneros have already tied Reyes, Assuncao and Ujfalusi to new deals and they are eager to do the same with their most prized asset.

Aguero’s current contract expires in June 2012 and the club are expected to offer him a there-year extension.

The current €60 million release clause showed big enough to keep interested clubs away from Vicente Calderon during the summer, so the reason behind the new contract offer is more to show Aguero that he is valued at the club than to scare potential suitors.

By the time the Argentine signs a new deal with Atletico, he will become eligible for the dual citizenship as this is his fifth year in Spain and that will allow Atletico to sign another non-EU player in January.
