Atletico Madrid want Mir

According to a recent report from AS, Atletico Madrid studied transfer target Rafa Mir during their game against Huesca last night.

Atletico wound up easing to a fairly comfortable 2-0 win over Huesca and Mir wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet, but even if that game in particular didn’t impress them, what he’s achieved over the course of the La Liga season thus far surely will.

Mir is currently out on loan in Spain from Wolves but it doesn’t appear as if there’s any chance of him returning to Molineux. Instead, the Midlanders are looking to sell him for a substantial fee.

Atletico are currently top of the La Liga table and while getting ahead of themselves isn’t the right way to approach things at this stage in the campaign, it’s still important for them to consider their options prior to the summer transfer window – which is right around the corner.
