Barca agree Todibo deal

According to Sport, Barcelona believe everything has been agreed over the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse. The Ligue 1 side have apparently already secured a replacement they deem suitable by acquiring the services of 26-year-old Gen Shoji from Kashima Antlers, who has already signed a deal that is set to keep him in France until 2022.

Undoubtedly of great potential, Todibo only started playing for Toulouse first team at the start of this season. The 19-year-old defender will move to the Catalan club in the summer and sign a four-year contract. He will immediately join up with the first team and spend the pre-season training with them. However, his progress and ability will be reassessed at the end of August in order to judge whether a loan move for regular first-team action would be beneficial for his development.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are still actively pursuing a more experienced centre-back to sign for next season, one that would be ready to step into the team straight away.
