Barca and Real battle it out for van de Beek

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to battle it out this summer for the right to sign Donny van de Beek from Dutch giants Ajax. It’s no secret that van de Beek is a wanted man after the outstanding season that he’s had, with a series of clubs sniffing around with the hope of securing his signature. The 22 year old played a significant role in their run to the Champions League semi finals, and after scoring 17 goals from midfield, it’s clear to see why he’d be viewed as something of a commodity. Frenkie de Jong is set to join Barcelona in the summer with Matthijs de Ligt also being expected to make the same trip to the Nou Camp, so as you can imagine, Real are going to probably try their best to prevent Barca from making it a hat-trick.
