Barcelona have submitted a bid of €60 million for Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax, according to Sport.
The young defender has been linked with a move away from the Amsterdam Arena this summer for a while now, and while he is adamant that his focus at the moment remains with his current club at the moment, he hasn’t ruled anything out. He spoke about the possibility of joining Liverpool to play alongside his international teammate Virgil van Dijk, but he has also been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and of course, Barcelona.
The Catalan giants have already completed the signing of midfielder Frenkie de Jong who will join them as soon as the transfer window opens, and there is great optimism in their camp about getting de Ligt to share a ride to the Camp Nou with him.
However, with so many top clubs reportedly interested, it remains to be seen whether the amount of €60 million will be enough to get the deal wrapped up.
