According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are set to once again pick up their interest in Ajax pair Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt. The saga linking the Spanish champions with the duo has been ongoing for quite some time now, with Ernesto Valverde supposedly calling for the club to hold talks with Ajax – which would’ve taken place during the Champions League draw earlier today.

Both de Jong and de Ligt have played big roles in Ajax’s success so far this season, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. In addition to Barca the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich are all believed to have registered their interest.

While there’s always the possibility of them remaining in the Netherlands, Ajax have always been known as a club that feeds fresh young talent to bigger sides, and it feels like they’re going to continue down that path with this potential deal.
