Barcelona confident of agreeing Matthijs de Ligt deal

Having agreed a contract with midfielder Frenkie de Jong who will move to Spain from Ajax next summer, Barcelona are hoping to strike a double deal with the Dutch giants.

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo is reporting that the Catalans are feeling rather confident of their chances to grab the highly-rated defender during the summer transfer window.

Widely regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe, De Ligt is believed to have alarmed a host of the biggest clubs. The likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old but Barcelona believe De Ligt is keen to follow his teammate De Jong to Camp Nou.

It is being reported that Barcelona would have to fork out around £65 million and around £9 million more in add-ons and appearance-related bonuses in order to get their man once the transfer window reopens.
