Barcelona confident on de Ligt deal

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Spanish giants Barcelona remain confident in their ability to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Dutch side Ajax this summer. De Ligt played a big role in his side’s Champions league triumph over Juventus, who have also expressed their interested in the youngster over the last few months. However, Barca have yet to agree on a contract with the always controversial Mino Raiola, who is the defender’s agent. Barcelona have been the frontrunners for de Ligt’s signature for longer than we can remember, and after they were able to complete the signing of his teammate Frenkie de Jong, it truly did seem like just a matter of time before de Ligt signed on the dotted line too.

If a deal is indeed struck, however, we can’t imagine anything will be announced until after the season ends due to the possibility of Barcelona playing Ajax in the Champions League Final.
