Barcelona go after de Jong again

According to Sport, Barcelona are still interested in going after Frenkie de Jong. The 21-year-old has been a source of interest for the Spanish giants for quite some time now, with the club already having one bid rejected for him. Alas, when they want a player they tend to keep pursuing him until they get what they want, and that appears to be the case again with the Dutchman.

de Jong is considered to be one of the best young defenders in Europe, and seems to fit the bill of what Barca want at this moment in time. A lot of pressure will be on Ajax’s shoulders to keep hold of him, and according to the report, he could move a step closer towards leaving if Ajax fail to defeat Dynamo Kyiv in their Champions League playoff.

The first leg of their tie will take place tomorrow night in Amsterdam.
