La Liga champions-elect Barcelona are stepping up the chase for Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet.

The Catalans are widely expected to boost their backline during the summer transfer window and following widespread speculation dealing with several high-profile names, it is now suggested that Clement Lenglet is topping the wish list.

Barcelona officials are said to have already approached Lenglet’s representatives in order to discuss a potential summer move to Camp Nou.

Marca claims a meeting has taken place where terms of a possible move were discussed and where Clement Lenglet has been informed of Barcelona’s desire to make Lenglet a crucial player next season.

The 22-year-old defender has enjoyed a successful season at Sevilla proving his worth both at the domestic and international level.

Comfortable on the ball, Lenglet is a huge aerial presence and those are the main attributes that have qualified him as a top-choice target for the Camp Nou outfit.
