Barcelona progress with de Ligt

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have made some progress in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt. Just a few weeks ago it seemed as if the deal could be delayed for a while due to the fact that the clubs could possibly meet in the Champions League final. After both were humbled by Premier League sides, however, it seems as if they’re able to take things a step further.

Barca delegates went over to Amsterdam in order to try and move forward with the deal, but nothing has been agreed upon as of yet. As we know Frenkie de Jong has already agreed to make the switch over to the Nou Camp this summer, which could well be the deciding factor for de Ligt.

The teenage sensation is already showing maturity well beyond his years, which is probably one of the reasons why Barcelona are so interested in him. If he’s able to keep up this recent run of form, then there really is no telling as to where he could be in a decade or so.
