Barcelona reject West Ham bid for Gomes

Barcelona have rejected an offer from West Ham United for the services of Andre Gomes, according to Sky Sports.

The midfielder is a clear case of surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou and he spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Everton. His performances in the Premier League have been quite impressive, and the Merseyside club are hoping to keep him him at Goodison Park permanently.

However, it seems Everton aren’t the only club that want the Portuguese to stay in England. West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini, the 2014 Premier League winner with Manchester City, also liked what he saw from the 25-year-old. The Hammers consequently submitted a bid for Gomes, amounting to £18 million (€20 million).

However, Barcelona rejected the offer. They apparently value the player significantly more than that and with the need for funds for a busy summer in mind, they’re holding out for a fee of between £25 million and £35 million.
