Barcelona to battle Chelsea for Ajax goalkeeper

Barcelona have had a terrible start to the 2020 from all points of view. Their results were not great and led to Ernesto Valverde getting sacked, there were clashes between Lionel Messi and Eric Abidal and the club president Josep Maria Bartomeu was linked with a scandal that he was working against his colleagues at the club. Also, Martin Braithwaite transfer was a truly odd one.

But now there are reports that Barcelona could go after a goalkeeper this summer, as Sport are reporting they are plotting a move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana. Chelsea are reportedly already considering a summer bid for the Cameroon international, but now Barca are also interested in bringing him back to Camp Nou.

The 23-year-old spent five years with the Catalan side before moving to Ajax in 2015. He has two years left on his deal in the Dutch capital, but it looks unrealistic for Barca to go after him, since they are very well equipped with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
