According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez is a major target for Spanish giants Barcelona. The 22 year old has already scored nine goals this season and is considered to be the natural successor to Luis Suarez, who is said to be moving towards the end of his tenure at the Nou Camp. Gomez has been linked with a series of clubs over the course of the next few months, and now, he could be on the verge of a big money move elsewhere in La Liga.
Gomez is a Uruguay international and even played at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but he has yet to really break into the mainstream as so many Celta fans have been predicting. If he can get a deal of this magnitude over the line, though, then it’d be impossible for football fans to keep ignoring him and his talents.
