Barcelona willing to sell Umtiti

According to a recent report from AS, Barcelona are getting ready to sell Samuel Umtiti in order to bring Matthijs de Ligt to the Nou Camp. The Spanish giants’ pursuit of the Ajax star has hardly been a secret, especially after it was confirmed that his teammate Frenkie de Jong would be making the switch over to La Liga with Barca. In terms of Umtiti, though, the club that are currently leading the race for his signature is Juventus, who are also interested in de Ligt.

The belief is that Barca will give up Umtiti to Juve in order to clear the pathway for de Ligt, which makes sense, given that Clement Langlet has actually surpassed Umtiti when it comes to first team selections this season.

The Old Lady would be taking a big risk in bringing Umtiti over as a result of that, but even if this deal gets done, there’s always a chance Juve could continue to pursue de Ligt.
