According to Bild, Bayern Munich are set to battle it out with Atletico Madrid and Liverpool in the race to try and sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner. The German international has reportedly revealed that he can imagine himself signing for Bayern, although his current Leipzig contract isn’t set to expire until 2020.

Bayern haven’t made a formal approach but after learning of the interest from Atletico and Liverpool, it seems as if they’re going to step up their game.

Werner made the jump over to Leipzig from Stuttgart back in 2016, and ever since then he’s been able to establish himself as a firm fan favourite.

Bayern haven’t had the best of seasons up to this point although they do seem to be turning things around, with the big question being whether or not they can still capture the title. If they do, then that’ll likely only strengthen the possibility of Werner jumping ship from Leipzig – who currently find themselves down in 4th, five points behind Bayern Munich.
