Bayern Munich not selling Alaba

According to a recent report from Sport Bild, German champions Bayern Munich have no interest in the idea of selling defender David Alaba during the summer transfer window, despite interest from Spanish champions Barcelona. The Austrian was said to be flattered by the interest that was shown in him by Barca, but despite that, it doesn’t seem like a move is realistic. The belief is that he would have been an alternative to Jordi Alba, but now, their attention is going to turn towards Junior Firpo or potentially even Jerome Roussillon.

Alaba is widely considered to be one of the most exciting full backs at world football, even after all these years. He’s still playing at an incredibly high level, and if he can continue to make an impact for Bayern, then perhaps Barca will look at him as someone who can start for them as opposed to someone who would be a back-up.
