Benfica president arrives in England to finalise Lindelof deal

Following weeks and month of intense speculation Victor Lindelof’s transfer to Premier League seems close.

Portugal daily newspaper O Jogo can reveal that Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira is ona plane to Manchester where he is supposed to wrap up a deal for defender Victor Lindelof to Manchester United.

The highly-rated shot-stopper has seen his stock go through an astronomical rise over the last couple of months and it appears that the 22-year-old Swedish international is in line for a January departure four years after the arrival from Vasteras.

Lindelof broke into the fold at the beginning of the season after spending most of his time playing mainly for Benfica B team over the last couple of season. His commanding performances and confident displays have earned his plenty of suitors, but according to Portuguese sources Manchester United have won the race for the talented defender.

Benfica are asking €45 million for their man, plus another €5 million in ad-ons, but United are confident they will be able to lower the demands.
