Benitez hopeful for cash injection

According to reports in England, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is hopeful that he’ll receive the necessary cash injection in the January transfer window after Mike Ashley saw first hand how poorly the team are doing. Many fans already seem to have resigned themselves to yet another relegation, although the battle to avoid the drop is certainly wide open with a series of clubs struggling down towards the bottom of the Premier League.

Benitez has done what he can with the squad that he has but it isn’t enough, and now, he needs to be given the opportunity to spend big in order to get the Magpies back to where they need to be. The Geordie faithful continue to call for the head of the aforementioned Ashley, though, which could create some issues down the line as Newcastle begin their attempts to really push themselves away from the relegation zone.
