Bentaleb ‘banished’ by Schalke

According to a recent report from Sport Bild, Nabil Bentaleb has been officially ‘banished’ from Schalke’s first team due to disciplinary reasons. The 24 year old has been with the German club since back in 2017, when he made the jump over from Tottenham Hotspur. Bentaleb’s behaviour and attitude behind the scenes is something that has always been speculated over, but until now, it hasn’t really reached that ‘next level’.

Bentaleb is currently out injured and will only be permitted to train with the club’s under 23s squad when returning, and it remains to be seen as to when he could be allowed to make his way back into the senior team setup. Bentaleb is also considered to be a consistent member in the ranks of the Algerian national team.

At this moment in time, though, it seems almost obvious to suggest that nobody will be interested in hearing his excuses as he attempts to mend fences with the club.
