According to a recent report from AS, Turkish giants Besiktas are in negotiations with Villarreal to sign playmaker Santi Cazorla. The former Arsenal star is set to be out of a contract this summer, with Besiktas potentially looking to land him on a free transfer.

While his career has been hit by injuries and some bad fortune, nobody can deny the sort of impact that Cazorla has when he’s playing at the top of his game. Many Arsenal fans have said how much they miss having him in the starting XI, but now, he’s focusing his attention on a brand new adventure.

Turkish football hasn’t always been viewed as the most attractive destination for a lot of Europe’s top stars, but given the name value that some of these teams possess, it makes sense that Cazorla would want to stay as competitive as possible in a league that seems to be on the rise.
