Bitesize Prediction: Aberdeen vs Celtic – 09/02/22

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Celtic win

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has been a stellar purple patch, Celtic will make the trip to Pittodrie on Wednesday night when they meet Aberdeen.

Starting with the hosts, last seen over the weekend putting in a worrying display on the road, Aberdeen find themselves in the midst of an extended blip over the past three weeks. Eventually getting hit with a 2-1 defeat away at Livingston a few days ago, Stephen Glass’ men now sit outside the top-six and have the feel of a side really seeking some stability. Failing to win any of their last four Premiership matchups, including a 1-0 loss at St. Mirren last month, the Dons will know that they face a stern test at Pittodrie on Wednesday night. Suffering a 2-1 defeat when they last faced off against the Scottish giants back in November, it should be highlighted that Glass’ side hold a woeful record against the midweek guests. Aberdeen have now failed to win any of their last 16 straight meetings against Celtic.

As for the visitors, putting in another thumping display over the weekend and storming their way to a 4-0 romp away at Motherwell, Celtic find themselves enjoying a remarkable purple patch. Finding a way to build off of their stellar 3-0 win against bitter rivals Rangers last week, the Hoops have also found a route back to the top of the Premiership table. In fact, along with winning each of their last six contests on the spin, it should also be noted that the Scottish giants are unbeaten on domestic duties since way back on September 19th. Finding their feet under new boss Ange Postecoglou and with the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, Celtic should be confident of laying down another marker at Pittodrie. Given their rampant record against the Dons, we’re backing an away victory here.
