Competition: Saudi Pro League

Market: Al-Ahli win

Odds: 4/9 @ Pribet

Hoping to move into bronze medal position, Al-Ahli will welcome Al-Ettifaq to the King Abdullah Sports City on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to winning ways last weekend as they stormed their way to a 4-1 victory against Al-Kholood, Al-Ahli have their sights firmly set on securing another bronze medal finish this month. Making real history on May 3rd as they were crowned AFC Champions League winners, Matthias Jaissle’s side are enjoying what has become a real purple patch. Only continuing to shine since returning from March’s international break, the Royals have won eight of their previous nine appearances across all competitions. Signing off April with a stellar 3-1 win against bitter domestic rivals Al-Hilal, the former Salzburg boss will be excited by his side’s free-scoring performances in the final third. In fact, Thursday’s hosts have notched at least a pair of goals in 22 of their last 24 matchups across all fronts – a run that stems all the way back to January 15th. It should also be highlighted, Al-Ahli have suffered just a single defeat at the King Abdullah Sports City since the start of October.

As for the visitors, putting in another toothless performance last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate at home against Damac, Al-Ettifaq have found themselves almost sat in Pro League limbo this season. Signing off April with an action-packed 3-2 defeat against Al-Ittihad, the Commandos have won just a pair of their previous nine appearances across all competitions. Likewise, recording consecutive victories on just a single occasion so far this calendar year, Saad Al-Shehri’s side have also drawn back-to-back blanks over the past fortnight. Pencilled in as a landslide underdog here, Al-Ettifaq should also be concerned by their recent glaring issues outside of Dammam. Last seen on there travels falling to a 1-0 loss against Al-Kholood, the Greens have not recorded a single win on their travels since the start of March. Given the recent gulf in class between Thursday’s opponents, we are backing a home win here.

Bet: Al-Ahli 4/9 to beat Al-Ettifaq in Thursday’s Saudi Pro League showdown @ Pribet
