Competition: Spanish Segunda

Market: Albacete win

Odds: 5/6 @ 888sport

Looking to claim back-to-back Segunda victories on Sunday lunchtime, Albacete will welcome Ibiza to the Estadio Carlos Belmonte.

Starting with the hosts, while Albacete might have only made their Segunda return this season, Ruben Albes’ men have continued on what has been a stellar run of form. Making a return to winning ways last weekend as they claimed a 2-1 victory away at Las Palmas, the Whites are dreaming of clinching a shock play-off spot in 2023. Opening Sunday’s showdown at the Estadio Carlos Belmonte sat just three points adrift of breaking into the top-six, the former Lugo boss has also seen his side gain a reputation for their rugged displays on home soil. In fact, including a 2-1 win against Racing Santander on November 26th, Albacete have lost just one of their previous seven matchups in Castile–La Mancha. With that eye-catching flurry stemming all the way back to the middle of September, Albes’ side should be smelling another chance here.

As for the visitors, although Ibiza might have been last seen snatching a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Malaga, Lucas Alcaraz’s side are in the midst of a real Segunda crisis this season. Opening up Sunday’s showdown sat rock-bottom of the table and five points adrift of safety, the Blues are tipped as a leading relegation contender in the New Year. With just a single second-tier victory to their name since way back on October 2nd, the one-time Elche boss has also seen his downbeat squad show some glaring struggles on the road. Last seen away from Can Misses getting hit with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Zaragoza when opening December, Ibiza have lost each of their previous four Segunda showdowns outside of the Balearic Islands. Two sides battling it out at opposite ends of the table, we’re backing a home win this weekend.

Bet: Albacete 5/6 to beat Ibiza in Sunday’s Segunda showdown @ 888sport
